The rowing season runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day

EXPERIENCED ROWERS - Experienced rowers row from 5:30-7:00 a.m. on days when tides are sufficiently high to launch from East End Beach (i.e., within 2 hours of high tide). Specific dates will be shared upon registration. Weekday sessions will generally be coached. Weekend sessions will be long, steady rowing.

Full season: $600

Half season: $400

  • Session 1: May 22-July 20

  • Session 2: July 20-Sept. 8

LEARN TO ROW - PCRA will offer a 10-day Learn to Program from 7:30-9:00 a.m. on June 10, 11, 12, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 plus two additional days (TBA) of land training before June 10. The fee will be $300.


The Rowing Community Gathers to hear legendary coach Steve Gladstone! - All are welcome

Friday, April 3, 6:30pm at Waynflete: One of the world’s most eminent athletic coaches will be speaking at Waynflete School at the Davies Arts Center, (16 Storer St #2, Portland, ME). Steve Gladstone, a legendary rowing coach, brings a sporting philosophy that extends well beyond the boat with direct relevance to other sports, academics and professional facets of life. As a rowing coach, he has had a remarkable career spanning almost five decades, which has included dozens of national Championships at Yale, Princeton, Harvard, Brown, Navy, and Cal as well as with the US National Team. Steve is an inspirational figure in the world of sport, and will come to Portland to share his thoughts and passions with the audience. A movie about Steve is currently streaming on Amazon. The talk will be followed by a short Q&A. All are welcome.

launch driving & volunteers

Launch drivers and volunteers are vital to the organization, both on and off the water.  Launch drivers are at the helm of a launch provided and fueled up by the organization increasing the safety of our crew while on the water.

Coxswains

Coxwains are the command center of the boat processing water traffic, boat responsiveness and communicating to the rowers.  Coxswains are compensated for their time and talent.  If you are interested in cox'ing an eight or four please email us!
